(West Warwick, RI)  — A Rhode Island Catholic priest is denying holy sacraments to lawmakers who supported an abortion rights bill.  Reverend Richard Bucci of Sacred Heart Church in West Warwick says those who voted in favor of the Reproductive Privacy Act Bill will no longer be allowed to take communion, witness marriages or serve as god parents.  The Privacy Act Bill would put the Roe v. Wade Supreme Court decision into law. Rhode Island lawmakers are already feeling the impact of Bucci’s blacklist.  State Senator Adam Satchell says he can no longer be his niece’s godfather and Representative Carol … Continue reading Rhode Island Priest Denies Communion To Those Who Support Abortion

Proposed California Bill Would Punish Registered Voters Who Fail To Vote

(Sacramento, CA)  — A bill proposed in California wants to punish registered voters who don’t go to the polls.  AB2070, authored by Democratic Assemblyman Marc Levine, would require every California resident to participate in every election in their community.  The bill does not specify a punishment for failing to vote, instead, leaving that up to the California Secretary of State. Those who insist on not voting, would be required to submit a blank or partial ballot.  Chairman of the Marin County Republican Central Committee says the bill is a slippery slope, adding lawmakers can’t force people to do something unless … Continue reading Proposed California Bill Would Punish Registered Voters Who Fail To Vote

Armed Forces welcome the bravest and strongest women to combat roles

Published in Sierra Vista Herald One of the clearest memory I have as a child was the day I asked my dad, why women weren’t allowed to go to battle with him. He answered, “I guess the world isn’t ready to see women at war.” But now, the world is ready. Ash Carter announced that the armed services would no longer prevent female soldiers from signing up to fight in the front lines. He said our military has until Jan. 1 to submit plans of action, and until April 1 to put those plans in place. The year of 2016 … Continue reading Armed Forces welcome the bravest and strongest women to combat roles

Drive-by shooter targets ASU Campus during Territorial Cup

Underneath the roar erupting from Sun Devil Stadium yesterday as the Territorial Cup was reclaimed from the Arizona Wildcats, a reckless crime was committed as Tempe students were distracted. Students were alerted via ASU’s Emergency texting service to stay clear of Rural and Apache area following a drive-by shooting that occurred at around 3:45 p.m. The text was evidently written quickly, ridden with typos and abbreviations in an attempt to keep students safe. On a streak of good fortune, no one was injured and Tempe could celebrate their victory without suffering the tragic loss of any of their classmates. The … Continue reading Drive-by shooter targets ASU Campus during Territorial Cup
