(San Diego, CA) — Congressman Duncan Hunter is facing years behind bars after pleading guilty today to one count of misusing campaign funds. The San Diego Republican is now admitting to using the funds on personal expenses. Hunter says he wants to save his family from the ordeal of a public trial and says it’s been an honor to serve San Diego. His wife Margaret is also charged in connection to the investigation. She previously pleaded guilty and then reversed her plea, promising to work with prosecutors as reports alleged Hunter was spending campaign donations on extra-marital affairs. Hunter served in Congress for 11 years and is also the son of longtime former Republican Congressman Duncan Lee Hunter.
