Downtown Phoenix is the hub for business, from the local shops lining Roosevelt Row, to the skyscrapers that are multiplying as Phoenix is being developed, and as the skyline has grown, so has the economy. According to Dan Klocke, Vice President of Development, in the calendar year of 2009 there was revenue of $4,994,373 in sales taxes on hotel, retail, and restaurant/bar. Phoenix program gives mortgage down payment help to teachers, paramedics, police and firefighters

Published in Phoenix Business Journal Contributing Writer Alejandro Barahona Phoenix Mayor Greg Stanton unveiled a program yesterday offering mortgage down payment help to local school teachers, paramedics, firefighters and police officers. The program is an expansion of the Home in Five Advantage program created in 2012 by the Phoenix and Maricopa County industrial development authorities to help low- and middle-income buyers purchase homes. The program offers down payment and closing-cost assistance to borrowers, military personnel and now teachers and a host of first responders. Last Thursday they named Roosevelt Row on of America’s “Great Places.” The proud members of the community believe by promoting local businesses they’re not only benefitting the taxpayers, but also building a stronger community.
